回复 陈怡婷 :我们等待自由克莱尔移民好莱坞之前的社会讽刺剧，揭露资产阶级社会对工人机械式的控制和盘剥，带有轻喜剧风格，是一部早期经典。影片讲两个流浪汉在工业化和自动化浪潮中的不同遭遇，一个成了富翁，另一个只迷恋大自然。主角从监狱逃跑后，建了一座唱片厂（对百代公司的影射），流水线生产使得整个气氛跟监狱相差无几。本片是卓别林《摩登时代》的灵感源泉，其犀利的思想性不亚于卓别林的那部。（本片的电影公司曾状告卓别林侵权，后来克莱尔放弃了诉讼，并表示“如果我能启发卓别林的灵感，那是我的荣幸”，而且承认自己作品中的流浪汉源自卓别林。）影片在没有剧本的情况下拍摄，由演员现场发挥。片中音乐的使用具有突破性，被誉为影史上最佳电影配乐之一。
